Set on the continent of Zorgrotia, in the village Wheatrun of the Western Circles, a local militia are summoned to rescue a besieged caravan from bandits. But when a powerful artifact is stolen, and hints of a larger plot emerge, they are thrown into a race against the sinister goals of whoever is orchestrating the chaos.
Drawn further and further away from their village by the machinations of an unknowable force, they must befriend a legend and learn the truths about The Road, in the hopes of vanquishing their foe and beginning the long way home.
